Shark risk

In seas and oceans around the world, the number of people who are exposed to the risk of shark bites is constantly increasing. Worldwide, 20% of the world's population lives less than 30 km away from the coast and more than 50% of the world's population lives than 100 km away. Around 80% of tourism takes place in coastal areas. Shark ‘attacks’ are a global phenomenon that attracts considerable public attention and feverish media coverage. However, despite this widespread attention, these events actually remain relatively rare.
